Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her performance in films and television since the late 1980s. The actress has won numerous honors, like the Golden Globe Award, and 16 NAACP Image Awards. Since the mid 80s she has been working on film and television. Her work has been recognized with several awards, among them 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was born to her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Born and grew up at home in New York New York. Bassett's mother had split from her father when she was about five. Bassett and her younger sister relocated from the city of St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school and watched John Steinbeck's stage play Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she was inspired to be an actor. After graduating from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980 with a Bachelor's Degree in African American Studies, she continued to pursue an MA (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies, 1980. Master in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grade) Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett is currently working as one of the main characters in the film Ramonda in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
